The Mountain Grove High School will now be offering a dance team for the fall season. The team will perform for both basketball and football games at half time. The team will be coordinated by Michelle Noel, for further details or to sign up contact her at 259-3881. All paperwork needs to be turned in by March 11^th. Clinics will be held March 15^th and 17^th from 4:00-5:30. Tryouts will be held March 18^th at 4:00 in the High School Gym. What a great opportunity for our schools and our community!

A special opportunity

On March 10^th and 24^th from 7:30-8:30 pm, we will be holding our next teen partnering classes. We will study styles such as Waltz, Foxtrot, Latin, Swing, and Country Line Dances. This is a great way to learn some new moves for the prom or your end of the year school dance. Just a reminder that these are all partner dances. Your partner does not necessarily have to be a student at the dance studio. You must sign up and pay the evening of the class. The cost is $8.00 per person. Everyone is welcome!

Remember that the dance studio can be a chilly place and the students should dress accordingly. Please encourage your students to wear attire that is warm yet does not restrict their movement. You may also bring a CD with the student’s name on it to class and we will copy the song that they have been working on for the dance concert. This way they will have something to practice with at home.

Show time is coming...

You have probably noticed that some of our costumes have arrived. We are still waiting on some class costumes and all of our tights and accessories to come in. We are always in need of a seamstress that is willing to do basic alterations for a small fee. If you have anyone in mind, please let me know asap.

As winter moves into spring...

As you already know, the weather has been crazy this winter. Please remember that when the Mountain Grove Schools close for severe weather, the dance studio will also close that evening. We DO NOT close for all other school related holidays. Please pay all tuition payments as scheduled for each month, even if we have missed. I keep track of all the days missed for weather concerns and will pro-rate your May payments. This is much easier than figuring out each person’s scheduled payment each month.

WE ARE HAVING CLASSES TONIGHT!!!

We will have classes on Thursday, December 16, 2010.  I know Mtn. Grove R-3 is out of school, but the road conditions were much improved when I drove in today, so we're going to go for it.  See you tonight!

December update

I  just  wanted to update you as to what is going on at the dance studio.  Classes are going great and I think that everyone has found the class they need to be in.  I am measuring the students for their costumes and will be working on the orders over Christmas break. All payments are due no later than December 16th and costumes that are not paid for at that time will NOT be ordered.  Costumes that are ordered at a later date will not be guaranteed to be received in time for pictures in May and you will be responsible for all extra taxes and shipping charges.  If you would like me to order special tights or pants to go with their  costume that are not included  in the costume price, please let me know at this time.

The dance studio will be closed for winter break between December 20th and January 2nd.  Please remember that the dance studio closes when the Mtn. Grove schools close for BAD WEATHER ONLY- - not for all other holidays.  The dance studio is a chilly place this time of year and the students should dress appropriately.  Sweats and lightweight jackets will be allowed at this time until we begin moving and warm up .  

You should make your tuition payment for December in full, even though, we are going to be missing a class or two for the holidays.  The number of classes that you  pay for works out at the end of our season.  I will adjust your May payment to ensure that you receive all the classes that you have paid for.
